  1. 1. Grease your loaf pan with butter and dust it lightly with flour.
  2. 2. Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces.
  3. 3. Mix the chocolate pieces with both types of flour and the baking powder in a bowl.
  4. 4. Peel the apples and cut them into small cubes.
  5. 5. Immediately toss the apple pieces with the lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
  6. 6. Beat the butter with a hand mixer until creamy.
  7. 7. Stir the eggs in one by one and thoroughly into the butter.
  8. 8. Fold in the apple puree, the honey, and the salt into the mixture.
  9. 9. Add the dry flour-chocolate mixture and the apple pieces.
  10. 10. Mix everything gently with just a spoon until just combined.
  11. 11. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  12. 12. Bake the cake in the preheated oven at 180 °C (fan: 160 °C; gas: mark 2–3) for about 1 hour.
  13. 13. Turn off the oven after baking time and let the cake rest in the oven for another 15 minutes.
