🍰 Chocolate Apple Loaf Cake

Ingredients
- 170 g dark chocolate (min. 70% cocoa content)
- 100 g spelt wholemeal flour
- 165 g spelt flour Type 630
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 2 apples
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 100 g soft butter
- 100 g apple puree
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 eggs
Instructions
- 1. Grease your loaf pan with butter and dust it lightly with flour.
- 2. Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces.
- 3. Mix the chocolate pieces with both types of flour and the baking powder in a bowl.
- 4. Peel the apples and cut them into small cubes.
- 5. Immediately toss the apple pieces with the lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
- 6. Beat the butter with a hand mixer until creamy.
- 7. Stir the eggs in one by one and thoroughly into the butter.
- 8. Fold in the apple puree, the honey, and the salt into the mixture.
- 9. Add the dry flour-chocolate mixture and the apple pieces.
- 10. Mix everything gently with just a spoon until just combined.
- 11. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- 12. Bake the cake in the preheated oven at 180 °C (fan: 160 °C; gas: mark 2–3) for about 1 hour.
- 13. Turn off the oven after baking time and let the cake rest in the oven for another 15 minutes.
