🍽️ Potato and Pumpkin Mash with Fried Sausages

Ingredients
- 350 g floury potatoes (4 floury potatoes)
- 250 g Hokkaido pumpkin (0.25 Hokkaido pumpkins)
- salt
- 150 g small poultry sausages (Viennese; 3 small poultry sausages)
- 1 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 4 tbsp milk (1.5 % fat)
- 1 tbsp butter
- pepper
- nutmeg
Instructions
- 1. Wash the potatoes and peel them.
- 2. Cut the potatoes into small pieces.
- 3. Wash the pumpkin and cut it into small pieces as well.
- 4. Put the potatoes and pumpkin into a pot.
- 5. Pour 150 milliliters of salted water over them.
- 6. Cover the pot and cook the vegetables for about 20 minutes until tender.
- 7. Cut the sausages in half crosswise in the middle.
- 8. Make fan-shaped cuts into the ends of the sausages.
- 9. Heat rapeseed oil in a non-stick frying pan.
- 10. Fry the sausages in the hot oil.
- 11. Put the milk and butter into a small saucepan.
- 12. Warm the mixture slightly without letting it boil.
- 13. Remove the cooked potatoes and pumpkin from the water.
- 14. Mash the vegetables roughly with a potato masher.
- 15. Stir the warm milk mixture into the mash.
- 16. Season the mash with salt and pepper.
- 17. Grate some fresh nutmeg into it.
- 18. Serve the mash together with the fried sausages.
