Ingredients
- 800 g floury potatoes
- salt
- 50 g butter
- nutmeg
- 250 milk
Instructions
- 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
- 2. Peel the potatoes.
- 3. Cut the potatoes into even-sized chunks.
- 4. Fill a pot with water and add some salt.
- 5. Bring the salted water to a boil.
- 6. Add the potato chunks to the boiling water.
- 7. Simmer the potatoes for 15 to 20 minutes depending on their size.
- 8. Drain the water from the potatoes.
- 9. Let the potatoes steam dry in the pot for a moment.
- 10. Mash the potatoes thoroughly with a potato masher.
- 11. Add the diced butter to the mashed potatoes.
- 12. Season the mixture with salt and ground nutmeg.
- 13. Press the butter into the potatoes briefly with the masher.
- 14. Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon, whisk, or hand mixer until the butter is completely melted.
- 15. Pour in the boiled milk.
- 16. Stir everything well until a loose, creamy puree forms.
