🍽️ Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients
- 1 kg floury potatoes
- Salt
- 150 ml Milk (1.5% fat)
- 2 tbsp sour cream (10% fat)
- Nutmeg
- white pepper
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes and wash them thoroughly.
- 2. Cut the potatoes into large cubes.
- 3. Place the potato cubes into a large pot.
- 4. Cover the potatoes completely with water.
- 5. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water.
- 6. Bring the water to a boil.
- 7. Reduce the heat to a medium setting.
- 8. Cover the pot with a lid.
- 9. Let the potatoes cook for about 20 minutes.
- 10. Drain the potatoes.
- 11. Catch the cooking water in a bowl.
- 12. Pour the milk into a small saucepan.
- 13. Heat the milk.
- 14. Mash the potatoes very finely using a potato masher.
- 15. Add the warm milk to the potatoes.
- 16. Add the sour cream to the potatoes.
- 17. Stir everything well with a whisk.
- 18. Optionally add 100 to 150 milliliters of the saved cooking water if you prefer a creamier consistency.
- 19. Season the mash with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- 20. Serve the mashed potatoes.
