🍽️ Creamy Mashed Potatoes with Caramelized Pears

Ingredients
- 1 kg potatoes
- salt
- 100 ml heavy cream
- 100 ml milk
- pepper
- nutmeg
- 1 large pear (preferably Williams Christ)
- 40 g butter
- 2 tbsp pine nuts
- sugar
Instructions
- 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
- 2. Peel the potatoes.
- 3. Cut the potatoes into four equal pieces.
- 4. Place the potato pieces in a pot with enough salted water.
- 5. Boil the potatoes until they are tender.
- 6. Drain the cooking water.
- 7. Let the potatoes steam dry for a moment.
- 8. Press the potatoes through a ricer.
- 9. Warm up the cream and the milk.
- 10. Stir the warm cream and milk mixture into the potatoes.
- 11. Season the mash with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- 12. Peel the pear.
- 13. Halve the pear.
- 14. Remove the core of the pear.
- 15. Cut the pear into small cubes.
- 16. Melt the butter in a pan until it foams.
- 17. Add the pine nuts and the pear cubes to the pan.
- 18. Sprinkle the mixture with sugar.
- 19. Fry everything until golden yellow while stirring constantly.
- 20. Fold the caramelized pears into the mash.
- 21. Finish seasoning the dish with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
