🍽️ Homemade Potato Dumplings

Ingredients
- 1 kg potatoes
- 100 g flour
- 2 eggs
- salt
- nutmeg
- 1 roll
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
- 2. Boil them with the skin on in salted water for about 25 minutes.
- 3. Drain the water.
- 4. Let the potatoes steam for a moment to release excess moisture.
- 5. Peel the potatoes.
- 6. Press them through a potato ricer.
- 7. Add two-thirds of the required flour.
- 8. Add the eggs.
- 9. Add salt.
- 10. Add ground nutmeg.
- 11. Knead everything into a soft but manageable dough.
- 12. Check if the dough is too sticky.
- 13. If so, knead in a little more flour.
- 14. Cut the bread into small cubes.
- 15. Toast the cubes in butter until golden brown.
- 16. Lightly flour your hands.
- 17. Take portions of the dough.
- 18. Shape them into dumplings.
- 19. Flatten the dumplings slightly.
- 20. Place the toasted bread cubes on top.
- 21. Pull the dough over the filling to seal it.
- 22. Place the dumplings in boiling salted water.
- 23. Let them simmer gently for about 20 minutes.
