🍽️ Vegan Potato Gratin

Ingredients
- 800 g mostly waxy potatoes
- 1 clove garlic
- 375 ml soy cream
- salt
- pepper
- nutmeg
- 30 g vegan cheese
- 4 sprigs thyme
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes thoroughly and rinse them under cold water.
- 2. Slice the potatoes into rounds about 5 millimeters thick.
- 3. Ensure the slices stay intact and arrange them tightly next to each other in the baking dish.
- 4. Peel the garlic clove and rub the inside of the baking dish with it.
- 5. Press the potato slices flat and spread them out in the dish.
- 6. Finely chop the garlic.
- 7. Mix the chopped garlic with the soy cream, salt, pepper, and a pinch of freshly grated nutmeg.
- 8. Pour the cream mixture evenly over the potatoes.
- 9. Preheat the oven to 225 degrees Celsius conventional heat (fan: 200 degrees, gas: level 3 to 4).
- 10. Bake the gratin for about 35 minutes in the preheated oven.
- 11. Grate the vegan cheese finely while waiting.
- 12. Sprinkle the grated cheese over the potatoes after 35 minutes.
- 13. Continue baking the dish for another 10 minutes.
- 14. Wash the thyme sprigs and shake them dry.
- 15. Pluck the thyme leaves and distribute them over the gratin shortly before the end of the cooking time.
