🍽️ Crispy Potato Gratin

Ingredients
- 1 clove garlic
- 1.2 kg waxy potatoes
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 600 ml milk
- 50 g crème double
- 75 g grated Gruyère cheese
- butter (for the dish)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 2. Peel the garlic clove.
- 3. Rub the baking dish with the garlic clove to flavor it.
- 4. Then brush the dish with butter.
- 5. Wash the potatoes and peel them.
- 6. Slice or shred the potatoes into very thin slices.
- 7. Place the potato slices into the prepared baking dish.
- 8. Whisk the eggs, milk, and double cream together in a bowl.
- 9. Season the liquid with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- 10. Pour the mixture over the potatoes.
- 11. Make sure the potatoes are just covered with the liquid.
- 12. Sprinkle the grated cheese over the gratin.
- 13. Bake the gratin in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown.
