Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes
- 400 ml vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes and wash them thoroughly.
- 2. Slice the potatoes into paper-thin rounds or use a mandoline slicer.
- 3. Rinse the slices under cold running water to remove excess starch.
- 4. Carefully pat the potato slices completely dry with kitchen paper or a clean cloth.
- 5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or a deep pot to a high temperature.
- 6. Fry the potato slices in batches until they are golden yellow and crispy.
- 7. Remove the chips from the oil and let them drain on kitchen paper.
- 8. Season the warm chips immediately with salt and freshly ground pepper.
