  2. 2. Place both in a pot and cover them just with water.
  3. 3. Cook the potatoes and garlic for about 25 minutes.
  4. 4. Drain the water.
  5. 5. Rinse the potatoes and garlic briefly with cold water to cool them down.
  6. 6. Press the potatoes and garlic through a potato ricer into a bowl.
  7. 7. Stir the cream and olive oil into the potato mixture.
  8. 8. Season the spread with salt and pepper.
  9. 9. Place the spread in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  10. 10. Cut the chives into fine rings.
  11. 11. Spread the cold spread onto slices of white bread.
  12. 12. Sprinkle the spread with the chive rings.
  13. 13. Serve the spread.
