  3. 3. Peel the garlic cloves from their skin.
  4. 4. Press the garlic through a garlic press.
  5. 5. Wash the thyme sprigs under running water.
  6. 6. Shake the thyme sprigs dry.
  7. 7. Pluck the small thyme leaves from the stems.
  8. 8. Mix the cream with the pressed garlic.
  9. 9. Add the plucked thyme leaves to the cream mixture.
  10. 10. Stir the grated cheese into the cream.
  11. 11. Season the mixture with salt.
  12. 12. Season the mixture with freshly ground pepper.
  13. 13. Season the mixture with a pinch of ground nutmeg.
  14. 14. Place the potato slices in a baking dish in a circular, overlapping pattern.
  15. 15. Pour the cream-cheese mixture evenly over the potatoes.
