🍽️ Hearty Potato and Cabbage Stew

Ingredients
- 800 g small white cabbage (1 small white cabbage)
- 1 onion
- 1 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 1 level tbsp paprika powder (rose spicy)
- 2 level tbsp paprika powder (mild sweet)
- salt
- pepper
- 250 ml cloudy apple juice
- 800 g small potatoes (16 small potatoes)
- 300 g smoked turkey breast (sliced)
- 200 g sour cream (24% fat)
Instructions
- 1. Remove the hard cores from the white cabbage and wash the vegetable thoroughly.
- 2. Cut the cored cabbage into thin, narrow strips.
- 3. Peel the onion and cut it into small, fine cubes.
- 4. Heat the oil in a large, wide pot.
- 5. Add the onion cubes and both types of paprika powder to the pot.
- 6. Sauté the onions until they become soft and translucent.
- 7. Add the cut cabbage strips to the onion mixture.
- 8. Season the cabbage with salt and pepper to taste.
- 9. Pour the apple juice over the cabbage.
- 10. Cover the pot and let the cabbage cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes.
- 11. Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water.
- 12. Boil the potatoes in salted water for about 20 minutes.
- 13. Cut the turkey slices into small cubes.
- 14. Stir the turkey cubes and the sour cream into the finished cabbage.
- 15. Drain the cooking water from the potatoes.
- 16. Rinse the potatoes briefly under cold water.
- 17. Peel the potatoes if you prefer.
- 18. Halve the potatoes if they are very large.
- 19. Mix the prepared potatoes into the cabbage mixture.
- 20. Heat the entire dish through once more briefly.
- 21. Finally, adjust the seasoning of the ragout with salt and pepper.
- 22. Serve the warm dish immediately.
