🍽️ Creamy Potato and Celery Gratin

Ingredients
- 400 g firm-cooking potatoes
- 400 g celeriac
- 500 ml whipping cream (at least 30% fat content)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- nutmeg
- 150 g grated cheese (e.g. Gouda)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes and the celery.
- 2. Rinse the vegetables under running water.
- 3. Cut the potatoes and celery into cubes of about 2 cm.
- 4. Mix the cream with a pinch of salt, pepper, and grated nutmeg.
- 5. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 6. Grease an oval baking dish with some butter.
- 7. Place the cut potatoes and celery into the dish.
- 8. Pour the seasoned cream over the vegetables.
- 9. Make sure the vegetables are almost completely covered by the cream.
- 10. Spread the grated cheese evenly over the surface.
- 11. Place the dish in the preheated oven.
- 12. Bake the gratin for 40 to 45 minutes.
- 13. Let the gratin turn golden brown and bubble.
- 14. Carefully remove the dish from the oven.
- 15. Serve the gratin immediately while it is still hot.
