  1. 1. Bring the vegetable broth to a boil in a pot.
  2. 2. Peel the potatoes.
  3. 3. Cut the peeled potatoes into cubes of about 1.5 cm.
  4. 4. Heat the oil in a separate pot.
  5. 5. Add the potato cubes and the mixed vegetables to the hot oil.
  6. 6. Sauté the vegetables for 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. 7. Pour the boiling broth over the potatoes and vegetables.
  8. 8. Bring the soup back to a boil.
  9. 9. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer the soup for 10 minutes.
  10. 10. Peel the horseradish while the soup is cooking.
  11. 11. Grate the peeled horseradish finely.
  12. 12. Wash the chives.
  13. 13. Shake the chives dry.
  14. 14. Cut the chives into fine rings.
  15. 15. Cut the smoked pork (Kassler) into 1 cm cubes.
  16. 16. Add the smoked pork cubes to the boiling soup.
  17. 17. Cook the soup for another 3 minutes.
  18. 18. Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste.
  19. 19. Serve the finished soup sprinkled with the grated horseradish and chive rings.
