🍽️ Creamy Potato and Broccoli Gratin with Smoked Salmon

Ingredients
- 600 g potatoes (mostly waxy)
- salt
- 500 g broccoli
- 150 g smoked salmon
- 1 tsp butter (for the dish)
- 200 g whipping cream (1 cup)
- pepper
- freshly grated nutmeg
- 100 g medium Gouda
- some chervil leaves (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Thoroughly wash the potatoes under running water.
- 2. Place the potatoes in a pot with salted water and boil them for about 20 minutes.
- 3. Rinse the broccoli and divide it into small florets.
- 4. Boil the broccoli florets for 5 minutes in salted water.
- 5. Drain the broccoli and rinse it briefly with cold water to stop the cooking process.
- 6. Drain the water from the potatoes.
- 7. Peel the cooled potatoes.
- 8. Slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
- 9. Cut the smoked salmon into bite-sized pieces.
- 10. Grease a baking dish with some butter.
- 11. Add the potato slices, broccoli, and salmon to the dish.
- 12. Season the cream with a pinch of salt, pepper, and grated nutmeg.
- 13. Finely grate the Gouda cheese.
- 14. Pour the seasoned cream over the ingredients in the dish.
- 15. Sprinkle the grated Gouda evenly on top.
- 16. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (Fan: 180 degrees, Gas: Level 3-4).
- 17. Bake the gratin in the oven for about 25 minutes.
- 18. Sprinkle the finished dish with fresh chervil leaves before serving.
