  2. 2. Place the potatoes in a pot with salted water and boil them for about 20 minutes.
  3. 3. Rinse the broccoli and divide it into small florets.
  4. 4. Boil the broccoli florets for 5 minutes in salted water.
  5. 5. Drain the broccoli and rinse it briefly with cold water to stop the cooking process.
  6. 6. Drain the water from the potatoes.
  7. 7. Peel the cooled potatoes.
  8. 8. Slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
  9. 9. Cut the smoked salmon into bite-sized pieces.
  10. 10. Grease a baking dish with some butter.
  11. 11. Add the potato slices, broccoli, and salmon to the dish.
  12. 12. Season the cream with a pinch of salt, pepper, and grated nutmeg.
  13. 13. Finely grate the Gouda cheese.
  14. 14. Pour the seasoned cream over the ingredients in the dish.
  15. 15. Sprinkle the grated Gouda evenly on top.
  16. 16. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (Fan: 180 degrees, Gas: Level 3-4).
  17. 17. Bake the gratin in the oven for about 25 minutes.
  18. 18. Sprinkle the finished dish with fresh chervil leaves before serving.
