🍽️ Creamy Potato and Apple Gratin

Ingredients
- 1 kg large waxy potatoes
- 2 tart apples
- salt
- 1 tbsp butter
- pepper (from the mill)
- 250 g whipping cream
- 100 ml milk
- nutmeg
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan
- dried oregano
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes and wash them thoroughly.
- 2. Slice the potatoes into paper-thin rounds.
- 3. Blanch the potato slices in boiling water for 60 seconds.
- 4. Remove the potatoes immediately and cool them in a bowl of cold water.
- 5. Pat the potato slices dry with kitchen paper.
- 6. Wash the apples and remove the cores.
- 7. Slice the apples thinly as well.
- 8. Place the apple slices briefly in salted water to prevent browning.
- 9. Pat the apple slices dry with kitchen paper.
- 10. Grease four shallow, ovenproof ramekins.
- 11. Sprinkle the bottom of the ramekins with salt and pepper.
- 12. Layer the potato and apple slices in a shingled pattern into the ramekins.
- 13. Season the layers with salt, pepper, and ground nutmeg.
- 14. Bring cream and milk to a boil in a pot.
- 15. Pour the hot liquid evenly over the four ramekins.
- 16. Sprinkle Parmesan and oregano on top.
- 17. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- 18. Place the ramekins on the second rack from the bottom in the oven.
- 19. Bake the gratin for about 25 to 30 minutes.
