  1. 1. Wash the carrots thoroughly and peel them.
  2. 2. Cut the carrots into round slices or long batons.
  3. 3. Heat some butter in a pan over medium heat.
  4. 4. Sauté the carrot pieces briefly in the hot butter.
  5. 5. Season the carrots with a pinch of pepper, salt, and sugar.
  6. 6. Mix everything well so that the spices adhere evenly.
  7. 7. Let the carrots caramelize slightly until they are golden brown.
  8. 8. Pour some broth over the carrots in the pan.
  9. 9. Add lemon juice and stir it in.
  10. 10. Cover the pan and let the carrots cook on low heat for 4 to 5 minutes.
  11. 11. Rinse the fresh parsley under running water.
  12. 12. Shake the parsley dry.
  13. 13. Pluck the small leaves from the stems.
  14. 14. Cut the parsley leaves into very fine strips.
  15. 15. Remove the pan from the heat if liquid remains and let it evaporate uncovered.
  16. 16. Sprinkle the chopped parsley leaves over the finished carrots.
  17. 17. Taste the carrots one last time and serve them warm.
