🍰 Caramelized Apple Slices with Vanilla Cream

Ingredients
- 2 Apples
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 40 ml Rum
- Organic Orange
- 1 pinch Vanilla Paste
- 50 ml Heavy Cream
- 1 tbsp Sugar
Instructions
- 1. Wash the apple thoroughly under running water.
- 2. Cut off the top lid of the apple.
- 3. Remove the core using a corer or a spoon.
- 4. Slice the flesh into even slices.
- 5. Heat a pan over medium heat.
- 6. Add the butter to the pan and let it melt.
- 7. Stir the honey into the melted butter.
- 8. Place the apple slices flat into the pan.
- 9. Pour the butter-honey mixture over the apples repeatedly.
- 10. Turn the slices occasionally so they caramelize evenly.
- 11. Let the apples cook until glossy for about 10 minutes.
- 12. Put the cream, sugar, and vanilla seeds into a separate bowl.
- 13. Whip the mixture with a mixer until it is firm.
- 14. Place the stiff cream into small bowls.
- 15. Place the bowls of cream onto the serving plates.
- 16. Place the caramelized apple slices next to the cream.
- 17. Deglaze the remaining liquid in the pan with rum.
- 18. Let the sauce reduce briefly until it thickens slightly.
- 19. Add the orange zest to the warm sauce.
- 20. Drizzle the sauce around the apples on the plates.
- 21. Arrange the orange zest decoratively on top of the cream.
- 22. Serve the dish immediately while it is still warm.
