  5. 5. Leave the pot on the turned-off stove until all kernels have popped.
  6. 6. Shake the pot occasionally to prevent burning.
  7. 7. Transfer the finished popcorn into a wide bowl.
  8. 8. Put water and whole cane sugar into a clean pot.
  9. 9. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  10. 10. Reduce the heat as soon as the caramel turns amber-colored at the edge of the pot.
  11. 11. Swirl the pot to ensure the sugar caramelizes evenly.
  12. 12. Remove the pot from the heat when the caramel is light brown.
  13. 13. Drizzle the hot caramel immediately over the popcorn.
  14. 14. Stir the popcorn quickly to coat it evenly.
  15. 15. Let the caramel popcorn cool down for a moment.
