🍽️ Hearty Kapustnica with Bacon and Pork

Ingredients
- 200 g Sauerkraut
- 50 g Smoked Ham
- 200 g Pork
- 100 g Potatoes
- 50 g Onions
- 1 l Water
- 30 g Mushrooms
- 100 ml Sour Cream
- 5 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- Pepper (from the mill)
- Allspice
- 1 tsp Paprika Powder (sweet)
- 1 Garlic Clove
Instructions
- 1. Cut the bacon into small cubes.
- 2. Fry the bacon cubes in a pot without adding extra fat.
- 3. Finely chop the onions.
- 4. Add the chopped onions to the bacon.
- 5. Sauté the onions until they become translucent.
- 6. Dust the mixture with paprika powder.
- 7. Pour in the water.
- 8. Stir in the sauerkraut.
- 9. Add salt.
- 10. Add pepper.
- 11. Add the mushrooms to the soup.
- 12. Add the sugar.
- 13. Press the garlic and add it.
- 14. Stir in the sour cream.
- 15. Let the soup simmer gently.
- 16. Cut the pork into cubes.
- 17. Add the meat cubes to the soup.
- 18. Let the soup simmer for about 10 minutes.
- 19. Grate the potatoes finely.
- 20. Add the grated potatoes to the soup to thicken it.
- 21. Let the soup come to a boil again.
- 22. Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste.
- 23. Serve the Kapustnica with bread.
