  1. 1. Wash the oranges and lemons thoroughly under hot water.
  2. 2. Slice the oranges and lemons.
  3. 3. Pit the cherries.
  4. 4. Halve the figs, pears, and kumquats.
  5. 5. Place all prepared fruits into a pot.
  6. 6. Cover the fruits with water.
  7. 7. Boil the fruits for five minutes.
  8. 8. Remove the fruits from the pot.
  9. 9. Drain the fruits well.
  10. 10. Stir grape sugar and regular sugar into the cooking liquid.
  11. 11. Heat the sugar mixture to 110 degrees Celsius.
  12. 12. Pour the hot syrup over the fruits.
  13. 13. Let the fruits sit in the syrup for 24 hours.
  14. 14. Drain the syrup after 24 hours.
  15. 15. Reheat the drained syrup to 110 degrees Celsius.
  16. 16. Pour the heated syrup back over the fruits.
  17. 17. Repeat the process of draining, heating, and pouring at least four more times.
  18. 18. Drain the fruits after the final syrup bath.
  19. 19. Let the fruits dry in a warm place for at least 24 hours.
