  1. 1. Beat the butter, sugar, and egg yolks with a mixer until the mixture is fluffy and airy.
  2. 2. Gently fold the flour and baking powder into the butter mixture.
  3. 3. Knead everything by hand or with a machine until you have a smooth dough.
  4. 4. Wrap the dough in cling film and place it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  5. 5. Stir the quark (curd cheese) and crème fraîche in a bowl until creamy.
  6. 6. Add the ground almonds, whole eggs, and egg yolk to the quark mixture and mix everything well.
  7. 7. Take the dough out of the refrigerator and roll it out flat on a lightly floured work surface.
  8. 8. Place the dough into a greased cake pan.
  9. 9. Press a border about 4 cm high at the edges of the pan.
  10. 10. Prick the bottom of the dough several times with a fork so it does not rise.
  11. 11. Pour the quark mixture evenly over the dough base.
  12. 12. Loosely cover the surface of the cake with aluminum foil.
  13. 13. Preheat the oven to 175 °C and bake the cake for approx. 1 hour.
  14. 14. Make sure the surface does not become too dark. If necessary, cover it with the foil earlier.
  15. 15. Pit the plums while the cake is baking.
  16. 16. Remove the aluminum foil from the cake after the first baking time is over.
  17. 17. Place the plums in circular rows on top of the cake.
  18. 18. Finish baking the cake for another 30 minutes.
