  1. 1. Take the pumpernickel rounds and spread them thinly with tomato paste.
  2. 2. Peel the cucumber and cut it into two thick slices. Place these slices on top of the pumpernickel rounds.
  3. 3. Cut the small cheese horizontally in half. Place one half on the cucumber slice to form the body.
  4. 4. Wash and peel the carrot. Cut off the round ends.
  5. 5. Cut the remaining carrot body into thin slices and cut these slices into sticks about two centimeters long.
  6. 6. Insert the carrot sticks into the cheese as spikes. Make sure to leave a small spot free for the eyes.
  7. 7. Press two pumpkin seeds deep into the cheese to form the eyes. Arrange the cheese hedgehogs on a plate and serve.
