🍽️ Classic Cheese Fondue

Ingredients
- 1 clove garlic
- 475 ml dry white wine
- 400 g Emmental
- 400 g Gruyère cheese
- 15 g cornstarch
- 50 ml Kirsch
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1 baguette (cut into cubes)
Instructions
- 1. Place the fondue pot on the work surface.
- 2. Lightly press a clove of garlic.
- 3. Halve the garlic clove.
- 4. Rub the inside of the pot with the garlic.
- 5. Pour the wine into the fondue pot.
- 6. Heat the wine in the pot.
- 7. Grate the cheese finely while doing this.
- 8. Add the grated cheese to the heated wine.
- 9. Set the heat to medium.
- 10. Stir the mixture constantly.
- 11. Mix everything into a smooth cream.
- 12. Mix the cornstarch with a little kirsch into a smooth paste.
- 13. Stir the starch mixture into the cheese mixture.
- 14. Let the mixture boil once briefly.
- 15. Season the fondue with salt.
- 16. Season the fondue with pepper.
- 17. Season the fondue with nutmeg.
- 18. Place the pot on a fondue burner.
- 19. Set the heat supply to low.
- 20. Cut the bread into cubes.
- 21. Skewer the bread cubes onto the fondue forks.
- 22. Dip the bread cubes into the hot fondue.
