🥤 Creamy Macaroni with Tomatoes and Cheese

Ingredients
- 500 g macaroni
- salt
- 1 onion
- 30 g butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 100 ml whipping cream (at least 30% fat content)
- 400 ml milk
- 100 g grated parmesan
- pepper (from the mill)
- cayenne pepper
- 200 g cherry tomatoes
- chive rings (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 2. Cook the macaroni in salted water until very al dente.
- 3. Drain the pasta and rinse it with cold water to stop the cooking process.
- 4. Peel the onion and cut it into fine cubes.
- 5. Sweat the onion cubes in hot butter.
- 6. Stir in the flour and cook it briefly together with the onions.
- 7. Deglaze the mixture with cream and milk.
- 8. Simmer the sauce, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes.
- 9. Stir half of the cheese into the sauce.
- 10. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- 11. Wash the tomatoes and halve them.
- 12. Mix the pasta with the halved tomatoes.
- 13. Transfer the pasta and tomato mixture into a baking dish.
- 14. Pour the cheese cream sauce over the pasta.
- 15. Sprinkle the remaining cheese evenly over the top.
- 16. Bake the dish in the preheated oven until the cheese is golden brown.
- 17. Garnish the finished dish with chives before serving.
