  1. 1. Carefully pick the redcurrants off the stems.
  2. 2. Remove any damaged or unripe berries from the mix.
  3. 3. Wash all the berries thoroughly under running water.
  4. 4. Let the water drain off the berries.
  5. 5. Set aside exactly 50 grams of the blueberries.
  6. 6. Put the remaining blueberries, the strawberries, and the redcurrants into a saucepan.
  7. 7. Sprinkle the fruit with regular sugar and vanilla sugar.
  8. 8. Pour the lemon juice and the redcurrant juice into the pot.
  9. 9. Heat the mixture slowly.
  10. 10. Let the fruit mixture simmer gently for 5 to 7 minutes.
  11. 11. Stir the cornstarch into a small amount of cold water until smooth and lump-free.
  12. 12. Pour the mixed starch into the warm fruit mixture.
  13. 13. Keep stirring until the mixture comes to a boil.
  14. 14. Pour the hot gruel into a bowl.
  15. 15. Let the gruel cool down.
  16. 16. Cover the bowl.
  17. 17. Place the bowl in the refrigerator.
  18. 18. Sprinkle the cold gruel with the remaining blueberries before serving.
