Ingredients
- 1 red chili pepper
- 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
- 0.25 tsp cloves (ground)
- Juice of one lemon
- 2 tbsp white rum
- 1 bunch cilantro (chopped)
- Salt
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 sirloin steaks (approx. 200 g each)
- 1 papaya (approx. 400 g)
- 400 g tomatoes
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp orange juice
- Cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp sunflower oil
- 0.5 pack taco chips (ready-made product)
Instructions
- 1. Cut the peppers in half lengthwise.
- 2. Remove the seeds from the pepper.
- 3. Rinse the pepper halves under running water.
- 4. Slice the pepper into thin strips.
- 5. Place the pepper strips in a bowl.
- 6. Add the ginger to the bowl.
- 7. Add the cloves to the bowl.
- 8. Squeeze the lemon juice into the bowl.
- 9. Add the rum to the bowl.
- 10. Add two tablespoons of coriander to the bowl.
- 11. Add a pinch of salt to the bowl.
- 12. Peel the garlic cloves.
- 13. Press the juice of the garlic cloves into the bowl.
- 14. Mix all ingredients in the bowl well.
- 15. Place the meat in the marinade.
- 16. Let the meat marinate for two hours.
- 17. Cut the papaya in half lengthwise.
- 18. Remove the seeds from the papaya.
- 19. Peel the papaya.
- 20. Finely dice the flesh of the papaya.
- 21. Wash the tomatoes.
- 22. Cut the tomatoes into quarters.
- 23. Remove the seeds from the tomatoes.
- 24. Chop the tomatoes finely.
- 25. Place the papaya in a bowl.
- 26. Add the tomatoes to the bowl.
- 27. Add the lime juice to the bowl.
- 28. Add the orange juice to the bowl.
- 29. Season the mixture with salt to taste.
- 30. Season the mixture with cayenne pepper to taste.
- 31. Mix the salsa ingredients well.
- 32. Heat the oil in a pan.
- 33. Fry the sirloin steaks in the pan.
- 34. Fry the steaks for about three to six minutes on the first side.
- 35. Fry the steaks for about three to six minutes on the second side.
- 36. Wrap the meat in aluminum foil.
- 37. Let the meat rest for five minutes.
- 38. Slice the meat.
- 39. Serve the Jamaika steaks.
- 40. Add the salsa.
- 41. Add the taco chips.
