🍽️ Crunchy Italian Bread Salad

Ingredients
- 4 slices Ciabatta
- 7 tbsp Olive oil
- 4 Tomatoes
- 1 large red Onion
- 1 Salad cucumber
- 2 stalks Celery
- 60 g black Olives
- 2 tbsp Capers
- 1 Clove of garlic
- 2 tbsp white Balsamic vinegar
- Salt
- Pepper (from the mill)
- 2 handfuls Basil
Instructions
- 1. Cut the bread into large cubes or tear it into rough pieces.
- 2. Heat 2 to 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan.
- 3. Fry the bread pieces in the hot oil until golden brown.
- 4. Place the toasted bread pieces on kitchen paper to absorb excess fat.
- 5. Wash the tomatoes and pat them dry thoroughly with a cloth.
- 6. Cut the dry tomatoes into wedges.
- 7. Peel the onion and slice it into thin rings.
- 8. Peel the cucumber and cut it into cubes.
- 9. Wash the celery and remove the fibrous strings.
- 10. Cut the celery into approximately 2-centimeter thick slices.
- 11. Drain the olives and capers in a sieve.
- 12. Halve the garlic clove.
- 13. Rub the inside of the salad bowl with the garlic half to release the flavor.
- 14. Add all prepared ingredients to the large bowl.
- 15. Toss everything well with the vinegar, remaining oil, salt, and pepper.
- 16. Divide the salad mixture into 4 small bowls.
- 17. Wash the basil leaves and pat them dry.
- 18. Serve the salad garnished with the crunchy bread cubes and the basil leaves.
