🍽️ Italian Burgers with Beef, Tomato and Mozzarella

Ingredients
- 4 ripe tomatoes (red and green)
- 125 g mozzarella
- 4 sprigs basil
- 8 slices toast bread
- 600 g ground beef
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tsp green pesto
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Wash the tomatoes and remove the hard stem ends.
- 3. Slice the tomatoes into thin rounds.
- 4. Drain the mozzarella.
- 5. Slice the mozzarella into thin rounds as well.
- 6. Wash the basil and shake it dry.
- 7. Roughly chop the basil leaves.
- 8. Place the toast bread slices on the oven rack.
- 9. Toast the bread slices in the hot oven until crisp.
- 10. Season the minced beef with salt and pepper.
- 11. Shape the meat into 8 flat burger patties.
- 12. Heat oil in a frying pan.
- 13. Fry the patties in the hot oil for 2 to 3 minutes on each side.
- 14. Place a slice of mozzarella on each patty shortly before the cooking time ends.
- 15. Spread pesto on four bread slices.
- 16. Place the burger patties on the pesto-covered bread slices.
- 17. Place the tomato slices on top of the patties.
- 18. Season the tomatoes with a little salt and pepper.
- 19. Sprinkle the chopped basil over the burgers.
- 20. Cover the burgers with the remaining bread slices.
