🍽️ Crispy Husarenkrapfen with Jelly Filling

Ingredients
- 100 g soft butter
- 75 g cane sugar
- 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp water
- 200 g whole wheat flour
- butter (for the baking sheets)
- 50 g red currant jelly
Instructions
- 1. Put butter, sugar, vinegar, and water into a mixing bowl.
- 2. Beat the mixture with an electric hand mixer until creamy.
- 3. Stir in the flour until a smooth dough forms.
- 4. Roll the dough into small balls.
- 5. Grease two baking sheets well with butter.
- 6. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheets.
- 7. Dip the handle of a cooking spoon into cold water.
- 8. Press small indentations into each dough ball using the wet handle.
- 9. Fill the indentations with warmed jelly.
- 10. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 11. Bake the pastries for about 10 minutes in the center of the oven.
- 12. Remove them as soon as they are lightly browned.
- 13. Let the pastries cool down while still hot from the oven.
- 14. Dust them with powdered sugar if desired.
