  1. 1. Heat cream, butter, and syrup in a pot until the butter has melted.
  2. 2. Stir in sugar, spices, orange peel, saltpeter (a leavening agent), flour, and nuts into the warm mixture.
  3. 3. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
  4. 4. Divide the dough into two equal parts.
  5. 5. Shape each part into a roll with a diameter of 3 cm.
  6. 6. Cover the rolls and place them in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  7. 7. Preheat the oven to 180°C using top and bottom heat.
  8. 8. Slice the cold rolls into 1 cm thick rounds.
  9. 9. Shape the rounds into small balls and press them down slightly.
  10. 10. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  11. 11. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for approx. 15 minutes.
  12. 12. Lightly caramelize honey and butter in a pot.
  13. 13. Remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture cool down briefly.
  14. 14. Thoroughly mix puffed rice and nuts with the honey-butter mixture.
  15. 15. Form small balls from the mixture using two teaspoons.
  16. 16. Place the balls on baking paper and let them dry.
