🍰 Moist Honey Cake

Ingredients
- soft butter (for the pan)
- ground almonds (for the pan)
- 150 g honey
- 100 ml whipping cream
- 250 g soft butter
- 50 g sugar
- 3 eggs
- 400 g flour
- 100 g ground almond kernels (peeled)
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- a pinch nutmeg
- 1 tsp baking powder
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius) using top and bottom heat.
- 2. Grease a loaf pan with butter.
- 3. Sprinkle the greased pan with ground almonds.
- 4. Place the honey and cream in a small saucepan.
- 5. Warm the mixture until the honey has melted.
- 6. Let the honey and cream mixture cool down again.
- 7. Beat the butter and sugar until fluffy.
- 8. Add the eggs one by one to the butter and sugar mixture.
- 9. Mix the flour with the ground almonds.
- 10. Add the ground ginger to the flour mixture.
- 11. Add the ground mace (nutmeg) to the flour mixture.
- 12. Add the baking powder to the flour mixture.
- 13. Alternately add the dry flour mixture and the honey-cream mixture to the batter.
- 14. Stir everything quickly until a smooth dough forms.
- 15. Pour the dough into the prepared loaf pan.
- 16. Smooth the surface of the dough.
- 17. Bake the cake in the oven for about 50 minutes.
- 18. Check for doneness with a wooden skewer to see if it comes out clean.
- 19. Let the cake cool on a wire rack.
- 20. Remove the cake from the pan before serving.
- 21. Slice the cake.
- 22. Serve the slices with butter as desired.
