  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius) using top and bottom heat.
  2. 2. Grease a loaf pan with butter.
  3. 3. Sprinkle the greased pan with ground almonds.
  4. 4. Place the honey and cream in a small saucepan.
  5. 5. Warm the mixture until the honey has melted.
  6. 6. Let the honey and cream mixture cool down again.
  7. 7. Beat the butter and sugar until fluffy.
  8. 8. Add the eggs one by one to the butter and sugar mixture.
  9. 9. Mix the flour with the ground almonds.
  10. 10. Add the ground ginger to the flour mixture.
  11. 11. Add the ground mace (nutmeg) to the flour mixture.
  12. 12. Add the baking powder to the flour mixture.
  13. 13. Alternately add the dry flour mixture and the honey-cream mixture to the batter.
  14. 14. Stir everything quickly until a smooth dough forms.
  15. 15. Pour the dough into the prepared loaf pan.
  16. 16. Smooth the surface of the dough.
  17. 17. Bake the cake in the oven for about 50 minutes.
  18. 18. Check for doneness with a wooden skewer to see if it comes out clean.
  19. 19. Let the cake cool on a wire rack.
  20. 20. Remove the cake from the pan before serving.
