🍰 Moist Honey Cake with Chocolate-Nut Topping

Ingredients
- 500 g honey
- 0.25 l germ oil
- 500 g brown sugar
- 150 g dark chocolate
- 200 g grated almond kernels
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 4 eggs
- 500 g flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 100 g almond sticks
- 150 g raisins
- 100 g citron
- 100 g candied orange peel
- 100 g red glazed cherries
- 100 g walnuts
- 200 g whole almond kernels
- 100 g coarse sugar
Instructions
- 1. Put honey, oil, and sugar into a saucepan.
- 2. Heat the mixture over medium heat and stir constantly until everything has dissolved.
- 3. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
- 4. Let the mixture cool down.
- 5. Break the chocolate into small pieces.
- 6. Let the chocolate pieces melt in the cooled honey mixture.
- 7. Stir in the almonds, salt, and spices.
- 8. Stir in the eggs.
- 9. Mix the flour with the baking powder.
- 10. Sift the flour mixture over the batter.
- 11. Stir everything well until a homogeneous dough forms.
- 12. Grease a deep baking sheet.
- 13. Spread the dough evenly on the sheet.
- 14. Sprinkle the topping ingredients over it.
- 15. Bake the cake at 180 degrees for 45 minutes.
- 16. Let the cake cool down completely.
- 17. Cut the cake into rectangular pieces.
