🍽️ Fresh Elderflower Syrup

Ingredients
- 1 bottle White wine (0,75 l)
- 4 Lemons
- 1 tsp Citric acid
- 15 Elderflower umbels
- 1.5 kg Sugar
Instructions
- 1. Pour white wine, an equal amount of water, and citric acid into a large container.
- 2. Wash the lemons under hot water.
- 3. Slice the lemons into thin rounds.
- 4. Rinse the elderflower umbels.
- 5. Shake the elderflowers dry.
- 6. Add the lemon slices and the elderflowers to the container.
- 7. Cover the container, for example with cling film.
- 8. Place the container in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 days.
- 9. Stir the mixture occasionally during this time.
- 10. Strain the liquid into a pot through a sieve.
- 11. Add the sugar to the liquid.
- 12. Boil the mixture for 10 minutes until a light syrup forms.
- 13. Pour the hot syrup into bottles.
- 14. Seal the bottles immediately.
- 15. Store the syrup in a cool place and enjoy it within at least 6 months.
