🍽️ Elderberry Apple Jelly

Ingredients
- 1.5 kg Apples
- 2 tsp grated orange peel
- 0.5 cinnamon stick
- 125 g elderberries
- 500 g jam sugar (2:1 per liter of juice)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the apples thoroughly.
- 2. Cut the apples into small cubes.
- 3. Place the apple pieces into a pot.
- 4. Add the orange peel to the pot.
- 5. Place the cinnamon stick into the pot.
- 6. Gently pick the elderberries from the clusters.
- 7. Rinse the elderberries lightly.
- 8. Add the elderberries to the same pot.
- 9. Add enough water to just cover the fruit.
- 10. Place the lid on the pot.
- 11. Set the pot over medium heat.
- 12. Cook the mixture until the apples are soft and falling apart.
- 13. Let the cooked mixture cool down.
- 14. Line a sieve with a muslin cloth.
- 15. Place the sieve over a bowl.
- 16. Pour the cooked mixture through the sieve.
- 17. Let the juice drip into the bowl for about 3 hours.
- 18. Weigh the collected juice.
- 19. Add the corresponding amount of sugar to the juice.
- 20. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring.
- 21. Perform a setting test to check the firmness.
- 22. Fill the hot mixture immediately into the prepared jars.
- 23. Seal the jars tightly.
- 24. Turn the jars upside down for about 20 minutes.
- 25. Turn the jars right side up to cool completely.
