  3. 3. Place the apple pieces into a pot.
  4. 4. Add the orange peel to the pot.
  5. 5. Place the cinnamon stick into the pot.
  6. 6. Gently pick the elderberries from the clusters.
  7. 7. Rinse the elderberries lightly.
  8. 8. Add the elderberries to the same pot.
  9. 9. Add enough water to just cover the fruit.
  10. 10. Place the lid on the pot.
  11. 11. Set the pot over medium heat.
  12. 12. Cook the mixture until the apples are soft and falling apart.
  13. 13. Let the cooked mixture cool down.
  14. 14. Line a sieve with a muslin cloth.
  15. 15. Place the sieve over a bowl.
  16. 16. Pour the cooked mixture through the sieve.
  17. 17. Let the juice drip into the bowl for about 3 hours.
  18. 18. Weigh the collected juice.
  19. 19. Add the corresponding amount of sugar to the juice.
  20. 20. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring.
  21. 21. Perform a setting test to check the firmness.
  22. 22. Fill the hot mixture immediately into the prepared jars.
  23. 23. Seal the jars tightly.
  24. 24. Turn the jars upside down for about 20 minutes.
  25. 25. Turn the jars right side up to cool completely.
