🍰 Savory Chard Pie

Ingredients
- 200 g flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 100 g butter
- 1 egg
- 400 g young chard
- 1 stalk leek
- 2 garlic cloves
- 400 g cream cheese
- 3 eggs
- 250 ml whipping cream (at least 30% fat content)
- 100 g freshly grated Parmesan
- pepper (from the mill)
- nutmeg
- butter (for the pan)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with fan setting.
- 2. Mound the flour on your work surface and mix in the salt.
- 3. Make a well in the center of the flour.
- 4. Cut the cold butter into small pieces.
- 5. Distribute the butter pieces around the well.
- 6. Place the egg in the center of the well.
- 7. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of lukewarm water.
- 8. Roughly chop all ingredients with a knife until small crumbs form.
- 9. Quickly knead the crumbs together with your hands to form a dough.
- 10. Shape the dough into a ball.
- 11. Wrap the dough ball in cling film.
- 12. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- 13. Wash the chard and remove the tough stems.
- 14. Roughly chop the chard.
- 15. Wash the leek and remove the outer layers.
- 16. Dice the leek into small cubes.
- 17. Peel the garlic cloves.
- 18. Finely chop the garlic.
- 19. Stir the cream cheese until smooth with the eggs.
- 20. Stir the cream into the cream cheese and egg mixture.
- 21. Set aside half of the Parmesan cheese.
- 22. Stir the remaining Parmesan into the cream cheese mixture.
- 23. Fold in the chopped chard.
- 24. Fold in the chopped garlic.
- 25. Fold in the diced leek.
- 26. Season the filling with salt.
- 27. Season the filling with pepper.
- 28. Season the filling with nutmeg.
- 29. Place two layers of cling film on your work surface.
- 30. Roll out the dough between the layers of film.
- 31. Grease the baking dish with butter.
- 32. Place the rolled-out dough into the dish.
- 33. Pull up a crust edge from the dough.
- 34. Spread the filling onto the dough.
- 35. Smooth out the filling.
- 36. Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan over the filling.
- 37. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes.
- 38. Remove the pie from the oven when it is golden brown.
- 39. Let the pie cool down for a short while.
- 40. Carefully release the pie from the dish.
- 41. Cut the pie into pieces.
- 42. Serve the pieces.
