  1. 1. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut a heart out of the bread slice. Leave a border of about 1 centimeter.
  2. 2. Heat some butter in a frying pan.
  3. 3. Place the bread slice in the pan.
  4. 4. Fry the bread slice on one side until golden brown.
  5. 5. Remove the pan from the heat.
  6. 6. Flip the bread slice in the pan.
  7. 7. Separate an egg into yolk and white.
  8. 8. Pour just enough egg white into the heart-shaped cutout so that it does not overflow.
  9. 9. Place the egg yolk in the center of the egg white.
  10. 10. Cover the pan.
  11. 11. Let the egg set (become firm) over low heat.
  12. 12. Season the egg with salt and pepper.
