🍽️ Small Herring Salad Bites

Ingredients
- 4 slices Pumpernickel
- 200 g pickled herring
- 2 red bell peppers
- 2 green bell peppers
- 2 shallots
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the bell peppers thoroughly.
- 2. Cut the bell peppers in half.
- 3. Remove the seeds and white pith from the bell peppers.
- 4. Dice the pepper flesh into very small cubes.
- 5. Peel the shallots.
- 6. Finely chop the shallots.
- 7. Drain the herring from the can or jar.
- 8. Dice the herring into fine cubes as well.
- 9. Place the peppers, shallots, and herring into a large bowl.
- 10. Mix all ingredients well together.
- 11. Season the salad with salt.
- 12. Season the salad with pepper.
- 13. Cut the pumpernickel into the desired shape.
- 14. Place a portion of the herring salad on each piece of pumpernickel.
- 15. Serve the bites immediately.
