🍽️ Grilled Herrings with Apple and Onion Filling

Ingredients
- 8 Herrings
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 2 Onions
- 4 Apples
- 1 bunch Parsley
- Salt
- Pepper
- 4 tbsp Butter
- Butter (for the aluminum foil)
Instructions
- 1. Turn on the oven and activate the grill function.
- 2. Place the grill rack on the top rail so it heats up thoroughly.
- 3. Remove the small pin bones from the herrings.
- 4. Rinse the fish briefly.
- 5. Pat the herrings dry with a kitchen towel.
- 6. Cut eight squares from aluminum foil.
- 7. Brush the foil squares lightly with butter.
- 8. Place the herrings on the prepared foil.
- 9. Open the fish slightly so they lie flat.
- 10. Drizzle some lemon juice over the fish.
- 11. Peel the onions.
- 12. Slice the onions into rings.
- 13. Wash the apples.
- 14. Dry the apples.
- 15. Cut the apples into quarters.
- 16. Remove the core from the apple pieces.
- 17. Slice the apple pieces thinly.
- 18. Season the herrings with salt and pepper.
- 19. Place the onion rings on one half of the fish.
- 20. Place the apple slices on the same half.
- 21. Wash the parsley.
- 22. Shake the parsley dry.
- 23. Chop the parsley finely.
- 24. Sprinkle the parsley over the filling.
- 25. Distribute small pieces of butter over the fish.
- 26. Fold the herrings together.
- 27. Fold the aluminum foil into a tight packet.
- 28. Grill the packets for about five minutes on the first side.
- 29. Grill the packets for another five minutes on the second side.
- 30. Serve two herrings per person.
