🍽️ Matjes fillets in creamy cream sauce

Ingredients
- 500 g Matjes fillet
- 250 g sour cream
- 0.5 tsp paprika powder (sweet)
- 1 tsp sharp mustard
- 1 tsp sugar (more to taste)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
Instructions
- 1. Pat the matjes fillets dry with a kitchen towel.
- 2. Cut the fillets into thin strips.
- 3. Mix the sour cream in a bowl with paprika powder, mustard, and sugar.
- 4. Season the sauce with lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
- 5. Gently fold the matjes strips into the sauce.
- 6. Cover the bowl or transfer the mixture into a jar.
- 7. Let the herring marinate in the refrigerator for about one hour.
- 8. Sprinkle the finished dish with fresh parsley before serving.
