  1. 1. Put the cocoa powder and sugar into a bowl.
  2. 2. Add two tablespoons of milk.
  3. 3. Stir the mixture with a spoon until it is smooth and lump-free.
  4. 4. Put the remaining milk into a saucepan.
  5. 5. Bring the milk in the saucepan to a boil.
  6. 6. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  7. 7. Add the prepared cocoa mixture to the hot milk.
  8. 8. Whisk everything well together.
  9. 9. Let the mixture come to a brief boil.
  10. 10. Remove the saucepan from the heat again.
  11. 11. Add the cognac and spices to the chocolate.
  12. 12. Let the mixture steep for about two hours to allow the flavors to develop.
  13. 13. Pour the liquid through a fine sieve into a clean saucepan.
  14. 14. This removes the spices and sugar.
  15. 15. Gently reheat the finished chocolate liquid.
  16. 16. Divide the almonds and raisins among the cups.
  17. 17. Pour the hot chocolate over them.
