🍽️ Fluffy Easter Hare Buns

Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 42 g yeast
- 80 g sugar
- 180 ml lukewarm milk
- 100 g butter
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 pinch saffron powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 egg yolks (for brushing)
- 6 raisins
Instructions
- 1. Sift the flour into a large bowl.
- 2. Make a small well in the center of the flour.
- 3. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the lukewarm milk.
- 4. Pour the milk-yeast mixture into the well.
- 5. Cover the well with a little flour.
- 6. Let the mixture rise in a warm place for 15 minutes.
- 7. Add the melted butter, egg yolk, saffron threads, and salt to the remaining flour.
- 8. Knead everything into a smooth, pliable dough.
- 9. Cover the bowl.
- 10. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- 11. Take the dough out.
- 12. Knead it briefly on a lightly floured work surface.
- 13. Slap it down once firmly.
- 14. Cover it again.
- 15. Let the dough rise for another 40 minutes.
- 16. Punch the risen dough down briefly to release the air.
- 17. Divide the dough into a total of six pieces.
- 18. Form three smaller and three larger portions.
- 19. Cut or shape the bodies of the Easter hares from the dough pieces.
- 20. Use templates as a guide if you like.
- 21. Shape the remaining dough pieces into the front and back legs.
- 22. Shape the ears from the dough.
- 23. Beat the egg yolk.
- 24. Use the beaten egg yolk as glue.
- 25. Press the legs and ears firmly onto the hare's body.
- 26. Line two baking sheets with baking paper.
- 27. Place the finished hares on the sheets.
- 28. Press the raisins slightly into the dough for the eyes.
- 29. Let the hares rest for 10 minutes.
- 30. Brush the hares with a little egg yolk.
- 31. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius (conventional heat).
- 32. Bake the hares for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
