🍽️ Crispy Yeast Rings

Ingredients
- 600 g flour
- 60 g sugar
- 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 0.5 tsp cinnamon
- 1 Würfel yeast (42 g)
- 300 ml milk
- 2 eggs
- 60 g butter
- flour (for working)
Instructions
- 1. Sift the flour into a large bowl.
- 2. Press a well into the center of the flour.
- 3. Add the sugar, vanilla sugar, and cinnamon to the well.
- 4. Crumble the yeast on top of the spices.
- 5. Mix the ingredients with 3 to 4 tablespoons of lukewarm milk to form a paste.
- 6. Cover the bowl.
- 7. Let the pre-dough rest for about 15 minutes.
- 8. Add the eggs and the soft butter to the pre-dough.
- 9. Knead the ingredients well.
- 10. Gradually pour in the remaining milk.
- 11. Continue kneading until a smooth dough forms.
- 12. Knead until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- 13. Use a little more milk or flour if needed to reach the right consistency.
- 14. Cover the dough.
- 15. Let it rest for another 45 minutes.
- 16. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 17. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- 18. Divide the dough into 8 to 10 equal pieces.
- 19. Knead the individual pieces briefly again.
- 20. Roll each piece into a rope about 18 centimeters long.
- 21. Form a ring from each rope.
- 22. Press the ends of the rings firmly together so they hold.
- 23. Lightly coat the rings in flour.
- 24. Cut diagonal slits around the rings.
- 25. Gently pull the slits apart with your hands.
- 26. Place the rings on the prepared baking sheet.
- 27. Bake the yeast rings for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
