🍽️ Burgers with fresh salsa

Ingredients
- 1 stale roll
- 1 shallot
- 3 tbsp sunflower oil
- breadcrumbs (as needed)
- 1 egg
- 300 g mixed minced meat
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 4 lettuce leaves (e.g. Lollo bianco)
- 2 tomatoes
- 4 rolls
- 50 g pickles
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 red onion
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- lemon juice
- Tabasco
Instructions
- 1. Soak the stale bun in lukewarm water.
- 2. Peel the shallot and chop it finely.
- 3. Sauté the shallot in one tablespoon of oil.
- 4. Let the shallot mixture cool down briefly.
- 5. Squeeze the soaked bun well to remove excess water.
- 6. Mix the squeezed bun, shallots, and an egg with the minced meat.
- 7. Add more crumbs if necessary until the mixture is moldable.
- 8. Ensure the meat mixture is not too soft.
- 9. Season the mixture generously with salt and pepper.
- 10. Form four patties from the meat mixture.
- 11. Heat the remaining oil in a hot pan.
- 12. Fry the patties in the pan.
- 13. Turn the patties occasionally.
- 14. Cook the patties for five to six minutes.
- 15. Cut the buns open.
- 16. Wash the lettuce leaves.
- 17. Pat the lettuce leaves dry.
- 18. Wash the tomatoes.
- 19. Cut out the stem area from the tomatoes.
- 20. Slice the tomatoes.
- 21. Place lettuce and tomato slices on one burger half.
- 22. Dice the cucumbers finely for the salsa.
- 23. Wash the tomatoes for the salsa again.
- 24. Quarter the tomatoes for the salsa.
- 25. Remove the seeds from the tomatoes for the salsa.
- 26. Dice the seeded tomatoes for the salsa.
- 27. Peel the onion for the salsa.
- 28. Chop the onion for the salsa finely.
- 29. Mix cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions with ketchup.
- 30. Season the salsa with lemon juice.
- 31. Season the salsa with Tabasco.
- 32. Place half of the salsa on the bottom bun half.
- 33. Place a patty on the salsa.
- 34. Spread the remaining salsa on the patty.
- 35. Place the top bun half on top as a lid.
- 36. Serve the burger.
