🍽️ Classic Burgers

Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 2 tbsp olive oil (20 g each)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 400 g beef minced meat
- Breadcrumbs (as needed)
- salt

- 4 lettuce leaves (e.g. Lollo bionda)
- 1 red onion
- 1 tomato
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp hot mustard
- 4 burger buns
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and cut it into fine cubes.
- 2. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pan.
- 3. Sauté the onion cubes in it until they are soft and translucent.
- 4. Let the onion mixture cool down briefly.
- 5. Mix the cooled onions with an egg, thyme, and the minced meat.
- 6. Add breadcrumbs until the mixture is easy to shape.
- 7. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 8. Form four round meatballs from the mixture.
- 9. Fry the meatballs in the remaining oil in a hot pan.
- 10. Turn the balls occasionally until they are golden brown on both sides.
- 11. Frying takes about six to eight minutes.
- 12. Wash the lettuce and remove the tough stems.
- 13. Shake the lettuce dry and tear the leaves into small pieces.
- 14. Peel the onion and slice it into rings.
- 15. Wash the tomato and remove the hard stem base.
- 16. Slice the tomato into thin rounds.
- 17. Stir the mayonnaise smoothly with the mustard.
- 18. Cut the buns horizontally in the middle.
- 19. Toast the cut sides of the buns until golden brown.
- 20. Spread the mayonnaise mixture on the bottom half of the buns.
- 21. Place the lettuce on the buttered bun bottom.
- 22. Place the meatballs, tomato slices, and onion rings on top.
- 23. Cover the burgers with the top bun.
- 24. Serve the burgers immediately.
