Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 2 tbsp olive oil (20 g each)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 400 g beef minced meat
- breadcrumbs (as needed)
- salt
- pepper
- 4 lettuce leaves (e.g. Lollo bionda)
- 1 red onion
- 1 tomato
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp hot mustard
- 4 burger buns
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and dice it finely.
- 2. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pan.
- 3. Sauté the onion cubes until they are soft and slightly translucent.
- 4. Let the onions cool down briefly.
- 5. Add the minced meat, the egg, the thyme, and the cooled onions to a large bowl.
- 6. Add the breadcrumbs gradually.
- 7. Mix everything until the mixture is easy to shape.
- 8. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 9. Form four round meat patties from the mixture.
- 10. Heat the remaining oil in a hot pan.
- 11. Fry the meat patties in the pan.
- 12. Turn the patties occasionally to ensure even cooking.
- 13. Fry them for 6 to 8 minutes on both sides.
- 14. Fry them until they are golden brown.
- 15. Wash the lettuce thoroughly.
- 16. Remove any damaged leaves from the lettuce.
- 17. Shake the lettuce dry.
- 18. Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
- 19. Peel the onion for the burgers.
- 20. Slice the onion into thin rings.
- 21. Wash the tomato.
- 22. Remove the hard stem base from the tomato.
- 23. Slice the tomato into thin rounds.
- 24. Stir the mayonnaise smoothly with the mustard.
- 25. Cut the buns horizontally in the middle.
- 26. Toast the cut sides of the buns in a pan until golden brown.
- 27. Spread the mayonnaise mixture on the bottom halves of the buns.
- 28. Top the buns with the lettuce.
- 29. Place the meat patties on the lettuce.
- 30. Add the tomato slices.
- 31. Place the onion rings on top.
- 32. Close the burgers with the top bun halves.
- 33. Serve the burgers immediately.
