🍽️ The Perfect Burger

Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 2 tbsp olive oil (20 g each)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 400 g beef minced meat
- breadcrumbs (as needed)
- salt
- pepper
- 4 lettuce leaves (e.g. Lollo bionda)
- 1 red onion
- 1 tomato
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp hot mustard
- 4 burger buns
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and chop it into very fine cubes.
- 2. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pan and sauté the onion cubes until they are soft and translucent.
- 3. Let the onion mixture cool down briefly.
- 4. Add the cooled onion mixture, one egg, fresh thyme leaves, and the minced meat to a bowl.
- 5. Add breadcrumbs gradually until the mixture is easy to shape.
- 6. Season the meat mixture with salt and pepper.
- 7. Form four round meat patties from the mixture.
- 8. Fry the meat patties in the remaining oil in a hot pan.
- 9. Turn the patties occasionally until they are golden brown and cooked through on both sides.
- 10. Frying takes about six to eight minutes.
- 11. Wash the lettuce and remove the tough stems.
- 12. Shake the lettuce dry and tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces.
- 13. Peel the onion and slice it into thin rings.
- 14. Wash the tomato and remove the hard stem area.
- 15. Slice the tomato into thin rounds.
- 16. Stir the mayonnaise smoothly with the mustard.
- 17. Cut the buns horizontally in half.
- 18. Toast the cut sides of the buns in a pan until golden brown.
- 19. Spread the mayonnaise-mustard mixture on the bottom halves of the buns.
- 20. Top the buns with the lettuce.
- 21. Place the meat patties on the lettuce.
- 22. Add the tomato slices and the onion rings.
- 23. Place the top bun on.
- 24. Serve the burger immediately.
