🍽️ Crispy Oven Chicken with Lemon-Thyme Marinade

Ingredients
- 4 chicken drumsticks (or 1 whole chicken divided into 6 pieces)
- 8 chicken wings
- 2 lemons (juice)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp liquid honey (e.g. acacia honey)
- 4 tbsp water
- salt
- 1 tsp ground chili peppers
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Plenty of bay leaves
Instructions
- 1. Whisk lemon juice, olive oil, water, honey, salt, thyme, and chili together in a bowl to create a uniform marinade.
- 2. Thoroughly wash the chicken pieces and then pat them completely dry with kitchen paper.
- 3. Pour the marinade over the chicken and mix everything well so that every piece is evenly coated.
- 4. Let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
- 5. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.
- 6. Brush a baking tray with a little olive oil and place bay leaves on top.
- 7. Let the chicken pieces drain briefly and then place them on the prepared tray.
- 8. Place the tray in the oven and roast the chicken until golden brown for about 30 to 35 minutes.
- 9. Turn the chicken once during the cooking time and brush it repeatedly with the remaining marinade.
- 10. Finally, brush the finished, hot chicken pieces once more with a little honey.
- 11. Serve the chicken on a bed of fresh bay leaves.
