  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  2. 2. Wash the chicken meat and pat it dry with a kitchen towel.
  3. 3. Cut the chicken meat into cubes of about 3 centimeters.
  4. 4. Peel the onion and the garlic.
  5. 5. Dice the onion and garlic finely.
  6. 6. Wash the lemon under hot water.
  7. 7. Pat the lemon dry.
  8. 8. Grate the fine zest from half a lemon.
  9. 9. Squeeze the juice from the half lemon.
  10. 10. Slice the rest of the lemon into thin rounds.
  11. 11. Place the onion and garlic cubes in a shallow baking dish.
  12. 12. Add 4 tablespoons of oil to the dish.
  13. 13. Add the lemon zest to the dish.
  14. 14. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  15. 15. Add cumin to the marinade.
  16. 16. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade.
  17. 17. Toss the chicken cubes well in the marinade.
  18. 18. Thread the marinated chicken cubes alternately with the figs onto wooden skewers.

  25. 25. Drizzle the skewers with the remaining olive oil.
  26. 26. Garnish the dish with fresh coriander.
  27. 27. Serve the skewers immediately.
