🍽️ Delicious Chicken Skewers with Figs and Couscous

Ingredients
- 700 g chicken breast fillet
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 untreated lemon
- 5 tbsp olive oil
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 200 g dried soft figs
- 300 g couscous
- fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Wash the chicken meat and pat it dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Cut the chicken meat into cubes of about 3 centimeters.
- 4. Peel the onion and the garlic.
- 5. Dice the onion and garlic finely.
- 6. Wash the lemon under hot water.
- 7. Pat the lemon dry.
- 8. Grate the fine zest from half a lemon.
- 9. Squeeze the juice from the half lemon.
- 10. Slice the rest of the lemon into thin rounds.
- 11. Place the onion and garlic cubes in a shallow baking dish.
- 12. Add 4 tablespoons of oil to the dish.
- 13. Add the lemon zest to the dish.
- 14. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 15. Add cumin to the marinade.
- 16. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade.
- 17. Toss the chicken cubes well in the marinade.
- 18. Thread the marinated chicken cubes alternately with the figs onto wooden skewers.
- 19. Place the skewers back into the marinade.
- 20. Add the lemon slices to the skewers.
- 21. Cook the skewers in the oven for about 20 minutes.
- 22. Prepare the couscous according to the instructions on the package.
- 23. Distribute the finished couscous onto the plates.
- 24. Place the chicken skewers on top of the couscous.
- 25. Drizzle the skewers with the remaining olive oil.
- 26. Garnish the dish with fresh coriander.
- 27. Serve the skewers immediately.
