🍽️ Crispy Chicken Thighs with Lemon, Garlic, and Thyme Braise

Ingredients
- 1 untreated organic lemon
- 4 garlic cloves
- 3 onions
- 4 chicken drumsticks (300 g each)
- salt
- pepper
- sweet paprika powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 200 ml dry white wine
- 200 ml chicken broth
- 0.5 bunch thyme
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the lemon under hot water and pat it dry thoroughly.
- 2. Slice the lemon into thin rounds.
- 3. Peel the garlic cloves and press them lightly with the flat side of a knife.
- 4. Peel the onions and cut them in half lengthwise or into quarters.
- 5. Wash the chicken thighs and pat them dry with kitchen paper.
- 6. Separate the chicken thighs at the joint into smaller pieces.
- 7. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and paprika powder.
- 8. Heat oil in a large pan.
- 9. Fry the chicken until golden brown on all sides.
- 10. Remove the meat from the pan and set it aside.
- 11. Add the onions, garlic, and lemon slices to the hot pan.
- 12. Fry the vegetables, turning them occasionally.
- 13. Deglaze the mixture with wine and chicken broth.
- 14. Season the sauce again with salt and pepper.
- 15. Place the chicken and herbs into the sauce.
- 16. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (convection 160 °C or gas mark 2–3).
- 17. Braise the dish in the oven for about 30 to 35 minutes.
- 18. Serve the chicken immediately while warm.
