  1. 1. Rinse the lemon under hot water and pat it dry thoroughly.
  2. 2. Slice the lemon into thin rounds.
  3. 3. Peel the garlic cloves and press them lightly with the flat side of a knife.
  4. 4. Peel the onions and cut them in half lengthwise or into quarters.
  5. 5. Wash the chicken thighs and pat them dry with kitchen paper.
  6. 6. Separate the chicken thighs at the joint into smaller pieces.
  7. 7. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and paprika powder.
  8. 8. Heat oil in a large pan.
  9. 9. Fry the chicken until golden brown on all sides.
  10. 10. Remove the meat from the pan and set it aside.
  11. 11. Add the onions, garlic, and lemon slices to the hot pan.
  12. 12. Fry the vegetables, turning them occasionally.
  13. 13. Deglaze the mixture with wine and chicken broth.
  14. 14. Season the sauce again with salt and pepper.
  15. 15. Place the chicken and herbs into the sauce.
  16. 16. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (convection 160 °C or gas mark 2–3).
  17. 17. Braise the dish in the oven for about 30 to 35 minutes.
  18. 18. Serve the chicken immediately while warm.
